South Korea's First AI-Based Medical Record System Deployed Across All Care Settings at Asan Medical Center
PuzzleAI, a South Korean AI healthcare company, has announced the deployment of the country's first AI-based voice recognition and medical record system covering all clinical settings—including emergency rooms, wards, and outpatient clinics—in collaboration with Asan Medical Center. The system, developed between August 2024 and March 2025, automatically generates medical records in real time by recognizing spoken conversations between clinicians and patients and summarizing them using generative AI technology.
The system has been initially deployed across 16 departments as well as the emergency room and orthopedic ward at Asan Medical Center, with plans to expand its scope following ongoing monitoring. This implementation is widely regarded as a pioneering model for AI adoption in clinical settings, as it is expected to reduce administrative burdens on healthcare professionals and allow them to focus more fully on patient care.
