At Puzzle AI, we have entered into a partnership with XR startup Overay to jointly develop a voice-based medical record system using AR glasses. Through this collaboration, we are advancing a next-generation hands-free documentation solution designed for clinical settings such as operating rooms and negative-pressure wards, where accurate documentation must be maintained even when direct manual input is difficult.

A Next-Generation Medical Documentation Environment with Overay

In September 2025, Puzzle AI signed a memorandum of understanding with Overay to begin joint development of a fully hands-free medical record system tailored for healthcare environments. This partnership is focused on creating a new documentation experience in which medical staff can speak naturally while wearing AR glasses and visually check documentation status through the built-in display.

A New Medical Documentation Experience Powered by AR and Speech Recognition

The solution is designed to go beyond voice input alone by enabling a broader workflow that includes saving records, summarizing content, and transmitting documentation through voice commands. Combined with Overay’s expertise in XR interface technology and user experience design, this collaboration is expected to deliver a more intuitive AR interface optimized for medical workflows.

Practical Use in Demanding Care Environments

A key strength of this technology is its applicability in demanding clinical situations where clinicians are wearing surgical gowns, protective suits, and gloves. Puzzle AI expects the solution to support more accurate and efficient documentation not only in operating rooms, procedure rooms, and endoscopy rooms, but also in infectious disease response environments and negative-pressure wards where monitors and keyboards are difficult to use.

Strategic Value and Next Steps

For Puzzle AI, this collaboration represents more than a device integration project. It demonstrates the potential of a next-generation medical workflow in which clinicians can review and save records without relying on manual input. Going forward, Puzzle AI plans to further advance AR-AI-based medical record UX and expand collaboration opportunities with global hospitals and research institutions, continuing to drive meaningful workflow innovation across healthcare settings.
